<p>Blessing of Water – will be held today. Barkev Sarkahian, son of Marty &amp;Nora Sarkahian will serve as the “godfather” of the Blessing of Water service. The water blessed today is to be consumed at church at the completion of the ceremony.</p>
<p>Today’s Baptism should remind us of our own Baptism. Take this day to reflect on how you have lived out your baptismal promises.</p>
<p>Brunch – Mike &amp; Meline Palma have again graciously undertaken the annual brunch. Please support their efforts and your parish. Thank you.</p>
<p>2012 Eparchy Calendar have arrived please see Patrick for your copy, there is no charge or donations for the calendar.</p>

<p>Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the &#8220;First Friday&#8221; and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Feb. 3 at 6:30 PM.</p>
<p>Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items.  If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. </p>
<p>Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. The list is simple. The need is great. The third Sunday of each month is designated as Can Sunday.  Please help by bringing a donation next Sunday. Please bring your can goods to the container in the church hall. </p>

<p>Blessing of Baby Jesus &#8211; Families are invited to bring their images and statues of the Baby Jesus, which will grace their Nativity crèche, for Father Mikael will bless them at the Vigil Badarak. Bless the Baby Jesus is an opportunity to reinforce the central place of Jesus Christ within the family.</p>

<p>Christmas Eve – Attendance at Badarak on Christmas Eve will fulfill your obligation to attend Badarak on Christmas day/Sunday. The children of the parish will participate in the procession in bearing the Infant to the Manger at the end of the Vigil Badarak. </p>

<p>God Father – for the Feast of the Epiphany, we are taking names of children (ages 7-12 and received their 1st Comm.) who would like to be the God Father for this important event. Please put the child’s(rens) name in the box in the first pew. The God Father will be picked on today. </p>

<p>Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November. </p>

<p>Celebrate Advent with your family – It’s a time to pray together. During Advent, you and your family can look forward to celebrating Christ’s birth. This is a time to reflect on Christ’s presence in everyday life. Plan to say a prayer together during each day of Advent. For example, your family could say prayers to: thank God, for something that happened during the day, thank God for the gift of family and friends and express your hopes for the future.</p>
<p>Blessing of Baby Jesus &#8211; Families are invited to bring their images and statues of the Baby Jesus, which will grace their Nativity crèche, for Father Mikael to bless on Sunday, December 18. As Advent is a time to prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, Bless the Baby Jesus is an opportunity to reinforce the central place of Jesus Christ within the family.</p>

<p>Lord, you have given me so much. Help me to recognize my blessings and give thanks to you. Amen.</p>
<p>Christmas Eve – Attendance at Badarak on Christmas Eve will fulfill your obligation to attend Badarak on Christmas day. The children of the parish will participate in the procession in bearing the Infant to the Manger at the end of the Badarak. </p>
<p>Altar Flowers – This morning were donated by Joe &amp; Sona Hoplamazian (Wedgewood Gardens) for the great Glory of God.</p>
<p>Your Christmas gift to your parish . . . will, we know, reflect your appreciation of God’s goodness to you. We thank you for your generous sacrifice both a Christmas and all year through.</p>
<p>Christmas Sharing – This year we have picked St John’s Hospice, in Philadelphia,  They need . . . soap, shampoo, toothbrushes &amp; toothpaste, deodorant, shavers and shaving cream. Please bring your items by Sunday, Dec.  18th and place them in the marked containers. Thank you for your support.</p>
<p>Our Prayers &amp; Best Wishes – To our dear Sisters, who celebrated their Feast day (Immaculate Conception) on this past Friday.</p>
<p>New Altar Bible – We wish to thank Asadur &amp; Arpy Minasian who have donated the cost of our new Altar Gospel Book. In honor of both our parents who have led us, and to our children, Vahe, Sareen and Nare who will one day lead us.</p>
<p>God Father – for the Feast of the Epiphany, we are taking names of children who would like to be the God Father for this important event. Please put the child’s(rens) name in the box in the first pew. The God Father will be picked on Christmas Day. </p>
<p>Parishioners/Friends: You should have received several emails on today’s events. If you didn’t receive them, please notify the Church office of your name and email address so you’ll be included on all future messages.</p>
<p>Koffee Klutch – Is your family celebrating a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. , why not share this happy occasion with your church family by hosting the Coffee Hour following Badarak on Sunday morning?</p>
<p>Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the &#8220;First Friday&#8221; and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Jan. 5 at 6:30 PM.</p>
<p>Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November. </p>
<p>Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items.  If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. The hall lights have been upgraded with a more energy effective fixtures, new emergency lights have been installed in the hall and a few other electrical problems have been corrected. Your support is needed even more, now that Gymboree has moved.</p>
<p>Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. His Excellency will offer the 10:30 Sunday Badarak on Dec. 11 and a reception will follow the Badarak in our Church Hall. The Bishop will be leaving Philadelphia on Monday. We are asking everyone to bring an item for the buffet table on Sunday. Please inform Rosa Zeibari what you are bringing to avoid any duplication of items.</p>

As Advent is a time to prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas, Bless the Baby Jesus is an opportunity to reinforce the central place of Jesus Christ within the family.</p>

<p>Second Collection – will be taken today for the benefit of the poor in Armenia. Thank you for your support and generosity.</p>
<p>Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the &#8220;First Friday&#8221; and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Dec. 2 at 6:30 PM.</p>
<p>Koffee Klutch – Is your family celebrating a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. , why not share this happy occasion with your church family by hosting the Coffee Hour following Badarak on Sunday morning?</p>
<p>Counting the Collections &#8211; The last few months there has been only one person to count the collection on Sunday. We know we can trust. . . but we should have TWO individuals to do the counting. It takes no more than ½ hour on the average to do the counting. If you can give us this time after the Koffee Klutch for even just one Sunday a month, please contact Patrick.</p>
<p>Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November. </p>
<p>Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items.  If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. The hall lights have been upgraded with a more energy effective fixtures, new emergency lights have been installed in the hall and a few other electrical problems have been corrected. Your support is needed even more, now that Gymboree has moved.</p>
<p>Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. The list is simple. The need is great. The third Sunday of each month is designated as Can Sunday.  Please help by bringing a donation next Sunday. Please bring your can goods to the container in the church hall. </p>

<p>First Pastoral visit – Bishop Mouradian will arrive on December 7 and will offer the 6:30 Badarak. His Excellency will offer the 10:30 Sunday Badarak on Dec. 11 a reception will follow the Badarak in our Church Hall. The Bishop leaves Philadelphia on Monday.</p>
<p>Parish Council Elections – was held last Sunday and Matthew Bouloutian was elected the Parish Council new Treasurer. No one from the parish came forward to fill the position of  the Social Delegate. We will try to fill the position at another date.</p>
<p>Food Court / Our thanks to all the women who have cooked  and/or prepared the foods these past few weeks, to the men who prepared and cooked the meat, to those who set up and/or broke down, to those who helped with the mailing of the chances and flyer, to those who designed the flyer, to those who helped at the different stations and those who helped in any way to make the event a great success as usual.</p>

<p>It is with extreme sorry, that we inform you of the passing of the Reverend James E. King, Ph.D. Father entered his eternal reward on Thursday, October 27, 2011. The family has requested a viewing at St. Marks on Thursday (Nov 3rd), from 6:30 PM to 8 PM for our community to offer their respect. Father King’s Bishop, the Most Rev. Nicolas J Samra will officiate at the Trisagion (Religious service) at 7:30 PM. There will be a reception after the service in our hall. There will be additional viewing at Holy Ghost Byzantine Church, 2310 S. 24th St, Philadelphia, PA 19145, on Friday (Nov 4) from 8:30 to 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Service for a priest at Holy Ghost Church, celebrated by his Excellency, Nicholas Samra. 	</p>

<p>PARISH NOTES:</p>
<p>Food Court is just TWO weeks away, Nov 11 &amp; 12th. As you well know this is the biggest event in our parish. Your prayers and help are important and necessary for the success of this event. Please contact, Father Mikael or any member of the Parish Council, if you would like to volunteer your help for the event.</p>
<p>Food Court Sign Up – The sign up board has been set up. This is a first come, first pick, and so sign up for your favorite position, now. Thank you for your service to the parish. If you have any questions please contact a member of the Parish Council.</p>

<p>Collection for Armenia – will be taken up today for the assistance of the poor in Armenia. Your generosity and kindness will be very much is appreciated.</p>
<p>Yard Sale – The final one of the season was held on Saturday, our thanks to all who helped out for the three yard sales that were held this past season. The funds raised are earmark for the Youth. We cannot accept any further items for future Yard sales at this time. We do not have the storage area for the items.</p>
<p>The Armenian Sisters Academy – will have an Open House at the Academy on Tuesday,  November 15th. Please check their website or contact the ASA for additional information. </p>
<p>Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November. </p>
<p>Counting the Collections &#8211; The last few months there has been only one person to count the collection on Sunday. We know we can trust. . . but we should have TWO individuals to do the counting. It takes no more than ½ hour on the average to do the counting. If you can give us this time after the Koffee Klutch for even just one Sunday a month, please contact Patrick.</p>
<p>When you can’t sleep-, Don’t count Sheep … Talk to the SHEPHERD</p>
<p>Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items.  If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. With the recent rains, we have two more trees down (for a total of five for the year). Your support is needed even more, now that Gymboree has moved.</p>
<p>Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. The list is simple. The need is great. The third Sunday of each month is designated as Can Sunday.  Please help by bringing a donation next Sunday. Please bring your can goods to the container in the church hall. </p>
<p>Koffee Klutch – Is your family celebrating a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. , why not share this happy occasion with your church family by hosting the Coffee Hour following Badarak on Sunday morning?</p>
<p>Membership info update &#8211; Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved or are you preparing to move soon? Do you have children no longer living at home? Have a new e-mail address? Please help us keep our records current by contacting the office at 610.896.7789.</p>
<p>Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the &#8220;First Friday&#8221; and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Nov 4th at 6:30 PM.</p>
