Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November.

Counting the Collections – The last few months there has been only one person to count the collection on Sunday. We know we can trust. . . but we should have TWO individuals to do the counting. It takes no more than ½ hour on the average to do the counting. If you can give us this time after the Koffee Klutch for even just one Sunday a month, please contact Patrick.

When you can’t sleep-, Don’t count Sheep … Talk to the SHEPHERD

Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items. If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. With the recent rains, we have two more trees down (for a total of five for the year). Your support is needed even more, now that Gymboree has moved.

Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. The list is simple. The need is great. The third Sunday of each month is designated as Can Sunday. Please help by bringing a donation next Sunday. Please bring your can goods to the container in the church hall.

Koffee Klutch – Is your family celebrating a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. , why not share this happy occasion with your church family by hosting the Coffee Hour following Badarak on Sunday morning?

Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the “First Friday” and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Nov 4th at 6:30 PM.

Today is the 8th Sunday of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
Our readings are: Ephesians 1:1-14 and Luke 8:17-21.

During the Badarak, this morning, please pray for the save journey of Father Mikael who is in Bzommar, Lebanon, to take part in the election for the new Superior of the Monastery. Father will be returning on Wednesday evening, November 2nd .

We would like to welcome back, Father Joseph Loya who will be offering the Mass this morning.

It is with extreme sorry, that we inform you of the passing of the Reverend James E. King, Ph.D. Father entered his eternal reward on Thursday, October 27, 2011. The family has requested a viewing at St. Marks on Thursday (Nov 3rd), from 6:30 PM to 8 PM for our community to offer their respect. Father King’s Bishop, the Most Rev. Nicolas J Samra will officiate at the Trisagion (Religious service) at 7:30 PM. There will be a reception after the service in our hall. There will be additional viewing at Holy Ghost Byzantine Church, 2310 S. 24th St, Philadelphia, PA 19145, on Friday (Nov 4) from 8:30 to 10 AM, followed by a Funeral Service for a priest at Holy Ghost Church, celebrated by his Excellency, Nicholas Samra.

Today is the 7th Sunday of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross & the Feast of the Discovery of the Holy Cross (Giut Khatch). Our readings are: Our readings are 1 Corinthians 1:18-24 and Matthew 24:27-36.

During the Badarak, this morning, please pray for the save journey of Father Mikael will be traveling this coming week to Bzommar, to take part in the election for the new Superior of the Monastery. Father will be returning on November 2nd; and that the priests meeting in Bzommar will be filled with the Holy Spirit for this very important election. Father Joseph Loya will be offering the Mass, next Sunday.

Baptism – Congratulations to our parishioners, Dan & Tania Miranda on the birth of their first child, MIA FLORINDA, who was Baptized on Saturday. We rejoice with you and your families on the gift of life and the gift of new life which Mia has received. Welcome to the Family.

Maintenance Fund – The monthly donation for the Maintenance Fund is $20.00. This Fund covers the major maintenance items. If you have any questions on the amount you owe, please contact the office. In addition, as always, thank you for your support. With the recent rains, we have two more trees down (for a total of five for the year). Your support is needed even more, now that Gymboree has moved.

Yard Sale – The final one of the Season will be held on Saturday, Oct 29. Please bring your items before that date. We cannot accept any items after this date. We do not have the storage area for the items.

Men’s Club – Tickets for the coming year’s drawing have been mailed to the parish. Additional tickets can be purchased from Jean Sarkissian or Patrick. The first Drawing of the coming year will be in November.

Parish Outreach – There is nothing worse than an empty belly. There is nothing more senseless in this land of plenty than hunger. Please help our parish provide for those less fortunate. The list is simple. The need is great. The third Sunday of each month is designated as Can Sunday. Please help by bringing a donation next Sunday. Please bring your can goods to the container in the church hall.

Koffee Klutch – Is your family celebrating a special occasion, birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. , why not share this happy occasion with your church family by hosting the Coffee Hour following Badarak on Sunday morning?

Sacred Heart of Jesus – Jesus has promised a special gift for those who are devoted to his Sacred Heart, including his promise that the person will not face death unprepared and will have the chance to confess and have Jesus in his heart, at that time. His requested devotion with the essential prayers and acts, including the “First Friday” and Nine consecutive months promises, with the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion and along with Badarak is offered on every first Friday of the month, the next 1st Friday will be Nov 4th at 6:30 PM.
